This is Alaska

Axis Orthopaedics is an Alaskan company founded and based on the great Kenai Peninsula, a land of awesome mountains, fertile rivers, immense glaciers calving into foreboding seas.

Ours is a land where massive summer salmon runs on endless summer days contrast starkly with endless winter nights and bone-shattering cold.  Alaska is a land of challenge and extremes, where survival is a function of both independence and interdependence, success of the individual intertwined with health of the tribe.

The ancient cultures flourished in this unforgiving land through ingenuity, mutual sacrifice and shared success. Settlers were by necessity innovative and resourceful…or simply did not survive. Alaska’s pioneer physicians paddled or mushed to remote villages, embodying the Alaskan virtues of invention, resourcefulness, and community.

Axis Orthopaedics is borne of this land and these traditions. Through strong support of the Kenai Orthopaedics Foundation, Axis manifests the Alaskan ethos through our commitment to healthy neighbors and communities…whether a sled-dog journey or ocean afar.
